Sam Mancillas
Samuel Mancillas "aka Mr. Sam" is an experienced performer and teacher. From an early age Samuel has studied music. In elementary school he studied Trumpet for 3 years and would play percussion with his father for church services. At age 12, Samuel recieved his first guitar as a reward for helping clean out a burned down house. The YAMAHA acoustic was old and the neck was warped but with a new pair of strings, he began his musical journey.
After a few years of self-instruction, Samuel started playing for his church as a rhythm guitarist and eventually began singing as well. After graduating High School, he began his music degree at Cosumnes River College and Sacramento City College; receiving private instruction from local jazz artists such as Steve Homan and Henry Robinette and several other instructors around the area.
While going to school, Samuel began teaching guitar to a handful of students through Newsongs School of Music and would later begin his own guitar teaching business.
In 2007, Samuel graduated with honors from Cosumnes River College with an Associates of Arts in Music specializing in Guitar. A year later, He began instructing once again with Michael Hemsworth and Newsongs School Of Music, where you'll find him this day!
