Michael Hemsworth

I have been an Elk Grove native for over 16 years. I began piano lessons as a child, but my passion for music really began in college. Once I began studying at the university level, I realized that there was so much more to “music” than just what I knew about playing the piano. I explored music history, composition, orchestration, playing in ensembles, and researching many of the things that make music work.

I was teaching piano lessons even as I worked through college, but when I graduated from UC Davis at the age of 18 I began teaching music “full time”. I knew that was what I wanted to do because I had made so many discoveries in college that I knew students could also benefit from.

At Newsongs, you are likely to meet my family as well: my fantastic wife Mrs. Cealey and our daughter Abyee (who plays in the Little Mozarts class) and our new son. We look forward to meeting you and your family soon.
